Nouvelle Vague playing at the Cape Town Jazz Festival

I’ve been following Nouvelle Vague ever since a close friend introduced me to the ‘bossa nova’ sounds of Marc Collin and his various vocalists. The band are famous for remaking classic singles like Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart” and XTC’s “Making Plans for Nigel” with vocalists who are unfamiliar with the original versions of the songs. This ensures that their renditions have their own identity. Liset Alea and Melanie Pain were an absolute pleasure to watch…

When I heard that they were playing at this years Cape Town International Jazz Festival I had to take the opportunity to capture this dynamic group performing some of my favorites. Have a listen to ‘Ever fallen in love’ while browsing the pics below))
